Keep Your Great Ideas Where You Can Use Them!

Trouble keeping track of your great ideas? My friend, Nashlah Boyayan, suggests using a notebook to keep you focused. That's a great idea (I'll be sure to put that in my notebook)! My trouble is once they are in my notebook (that I carry everywhere), when I go back to find that brainstorm, I spend an hour looking for it. I keep saying, "I know it's here somewhere!" or "I'm sure it's in this notebook!" So I have to do something more. I periodically copy them to my computer. Then I can find them then I need them using a simple search. I still use the notebook (maybe iPad will change that) because I need to keep a place to record my next moment of brilliance. (It's kind of like lightening: who knows when or where it'll strike!) Try Microsoft's OneNote, Circus Ponies' Notebook or Filemaker's Bento for keeping them organized and searchable. I've used all three and like them all. Also, check out my friend Nashlah and her website buzzbooster.com. She's got lots of those great ideas for your business.

So Much "To Do" and so little time!

OK, so I haven't figured out how to make 27 hrs in a day, Sorry! BUT - Do you need to get your "To Do" tasks under control? Was one of your New Years resolutions "to do" just that? You can choose from hundreds of websites and computer programs. In fact your personal computer probably has some sort of task list that came with it. Usually part of your email or calendar, they can sometimes be cumbersome to use especially if your "to dos" get mixed in with your messages from Mom, forwards from that annoying co-worker and even more work from your boss. Enter TeuxDeux! It's a website that makes it easy. It's convenient because you can access it from just about anywhere since it's web-based. That's because they believe in simplicity. Now you won't be able to do a lot of categorizing, but you easily assign your tasks to the day you want to get them done. You simply move them from one day to another. It's so easy, you might be tempted to keep moving that "make dentist appointment" off indefinitely. Of course that's easy too. TeuxDeux has a "Someday" category right at the bottom. This system won't work for everyone (what one does?). If you like lots of categories, priorities and other options, you might want to skip this one. But if you just need something to just work with little effort, check them out at teuxdeux.com. There's a simple sign up and you're on your way to getting more done.
